Dental Health is Important
Teeth Cleaning & Exams
We encourage our patients to visit us for routine teeth cleanings and exams at least twice a year. These appointments allow us to thoroughly clean your smile of any stubborn plaque and calculus that has developed, before it can cause any significant dental health issues. We examine the teeth for any signs of developing decay, as well as the gums for symptoms of gum disease and the mouth for indications of oral cancer. Our goal is to catch any problems early on, to allow for the highest chance of treatment success. We also provide our patients with customized advice as to how they can improve their at-home oral health routine, because brushing and flossing are just as important as going to the dentist!
Sealants are plastic coatings that are placed over the chewing surfaces of the back molars to protect them from food and bacteria build-up that can lead to decay. The back molars, especially in children, have very grooved chewing surfaces that make them more difficult to clean properly. Therefore, sealants help protect those teeth from developing cavities.
When a tooth has an infection that has reached the nerve, causing significant pain and discomfort, a root canal is necessary to relieve the pain and eliminate the bacteria. During a root canal, the infected pulp is removed, the tooth is disinfected and sealed, and we restore the tooth with a crown to restore its strength and appearance. Although a root canal may sound scary, the procedure is actually less painful than the infection that results in the need for a root canal!
Dentures & Partials
If you are missing teeth, dentures and partials are a great, removable option for improving the health and aesthetics of your smile. We create custom dentures and partials that fit securely and comfortably in your mouth, allowing you to chew and speak properly. Dentures can help protect the gums from gum disease, and if you are only missing a few teeth, they help prevent the other teeth from shifting.
